Lilly Tougas
Youth Ambassador
Lilly Tougas is currently a Junior in high school and lives on the beautiful Treasure Coast of Florida. She is a ballet dancer, soccer player, and participates in her school’s musical theatre program. Lilly has grown up enjoying the coastal cities and waterways of Florida, which is why she works diligently to spread the message of conservation. Lilly understands that anyone can use his/her own talents, experiences, and social abilities to get others involved. She creates campaigns, educational events, participates in citizen science, and is often a guest speaker on the topic of conservation. Lilly has also represented the Wyland Foundation as a Youth Ambassador for The Planet since joining Wyland in Beijing, China during the 2008 pre-Olympic event, Hands Across the Oceans. She currently does many projects with and serves as an Ocean Branch Coordinator for the Wild Over Wildlife (WOW) Foundation and writes as a Youth Field Journalist for Ocean Geographic. Her work has been recognized in many ways including Time Magazine’s Kid Hero For The Planet, Hatching of the Year for Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Go Blue Awards, Environmental Excellence Award recipiant for SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, Conservation Kids scholarship recipient, Shark Whisperer Conservation Kidz Award recipient, Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots and Youth Ocean Conservation mini Grant recipient.
